Spontaneous Knife Defense

Basic Certification Course

When? - Friday May 30th (7pm - 9pm) & May 31st (9am - noon & 1pm - 4pm)

Where? North Bay Indian Friendship Centre - see Map

Cost? $50

The objective of this course is "to provide participants with reasonable, spontaneous reaction to suddent and unexpected 'edged weapon' attack".

The course covers the following topics:

  • Knife attack dynamics
  • Combat breathing
  • Stress effects
  • Self-protection and the minimization of damage
  • Defensive response, stunning, takedown, disarm, and control
  • Legal issues

Written course material will be provided and a certificate will be issued upon successful completion.

Early registration is preferred to ensure that there are enough workbooks and training blades for all participants.

Short sleeved garments (tshirt) are recommended. This is a training seminar - be prepared to sweat.
